Usage
Configuration
Choose the startup wallpaper, tune transitions and control how much memory Crownpaper keeps.
Crownpaper has no config file of its own. It reads the shared CrownOS appearance file and takes everything else as command-line flags.
Startup wallpaper
{
wallpaper: "/home/you/.backgrounds/wallpaper.jpg",
}--image on crownpaper daemon overrides this value for one session.
Transition length
Every set takes an optional duration in seconds. The daemon's default comes from --duration.
crownpaper set ~/Pictures/dunes.webp -d 2crownpaper daemon --duration 0.6Memory
The renderer and decoded images are released when nothing needs them. Hold them on purpose when you know a change is coming, such as in a wallpaper picker.
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
crownpaper preload <paths>… | Decode wallpapers into the cache for an instant set |
crownpaper unload <paths>… | Drop preloaded wallpapers |
crownpaper preload-renderer | Keep the GPU renderer warm |
crownpaper unload-renderer | Let the renderer be released at rest |
