How do I reset my desktop settings?
Move a settings file aside so CrownOS recreates it with default values.
Updated
Every settings section is a RON file in ~/.config/crownos/. When a file is missing, CrownOS writes
a fresh one with default values, so resetting a section means moving its file out of the way.
Reset one section
To reset only the look of the desktop, move appearance.ron aside:
mv ~/.config/crownos/appearance.ron ~/.config/crownos/appearance.ron.bakOpen Settings → Appearance or sign out and back in. The file is recreated with defaults.
Reset everything
mv ~/.config/crownos ~/.config/crownos.bakSign out and back in to start with a default desktop.
Restore a backup
Move the backup back over the new file:
mv ~/.config/crownos/appearance.ron.bak ~/.config/crownos/appearance.ronStill need help?
